I received
a B.A. in Music Performance and Education
at the University of New Orleans and completed my post-graduate studies
on the flute in Salzburg and Vienna, Austria where I performed
extensively
on the Renaissance, Baroque and modern flutes. In 1988 -90 I
received a Fulbright Exchange Fellowship to teach English in
Austria.
After moving back to the US in 1994, I completed a Master's degree in
Early Music performance and history at
the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA where I studied Transverse
flute with
Christopher
Krueger and Viola da Gamba with Jane Hershey. I founded the Splendid
Century ensemble for Early
Music in 1998. Due to a nuerological condition, focal dystonia, I have
taklen a hiatus on performing but I have remained active in the
teaching field. I currently have a studio for flute, recorder and piano
instruction at my private studio in Medford, MA. In addition to my musical
activities, I am a freelance German>English translatorand tutor, and
continue
to explore the unique coexistense of music and language. I am
presently working on a graduate degree in German Literature and
Language at Tufts University in Medford near Boston, Massachusetts.
